How to Make Your Own Little Debbie-Inspired Christmas Tree Cakes

I LOVE Little Debbie Christmas trees so when I came across this recipe by Grace Like Rain Blog to make your own, I had to try it.

The recipe calls for a white cake mix, with a marshmallow cream center, topped with melted vanilla almond bark.

I started by mixing up the box of cake mix according to her directions.  I used an 18×13-inch pan to bake the cake and then cut it into Christmas tree shapes.

Next, I made the filling out of marshmallow cream, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla.

I piped the cream onto one tree and then topped it with another.

The filling is the best part of this recipe so when I made these again, I think I will double the recipe to make sure each cake has plenty of it!

Now it’s time to dip them in the melted vanilla almond bark.

I mixed in Crisco according to the recipe’s directions but I think I could’ve thinned it out even more.  These cakes are hefty!!

And here’s the finished product!

They are so good!

I had leftover cake scraps so I mixed in the remaining marshmallow filling and made cake pops out of them!  I ran out of vanilla almond bark so I used milk chocolate and I have to say, these may taste even better!

They aren’t quite as pretty though 🙂
